My Dream of Providing Care for Others
My Dream of Providing Care for Others
I have seen firsthand how many suffer from neglect and despite receiving medical attention, seem to make no productive progress at all. For many years now, it has been my dream to be able to improve the quality of life of those under my care. They can drink many pills and tablets each day. They can undergo tests and procedures over and over. But without the will to live, these people will merely linger, often uncared for and alone. This is what we are seeking to change. Along with the right methods and strategies at GCS, we not only prolong life, but also improve it.
We practice the proper application of the Montessori method for senior care. We employ fun and interactive activities to engage with the elderly on a regular basis. From painting, to music, and gamified learning, we introduce a new pace in their daily schedule. Many of those in our program expressed eager gratitude and joy because their days became more lively. They were appreciative of how they have others to talk to and spend time with. These become activities and interactions that they are excited to have and look forward to. The Montessori method has proven to be very effective in our application.
The core of the care we provide is the heart. Our dream is to be able to add value to the days of those entrusted to us. To make sure that we make all lives worth living, regardless of condition or circumstance. Caring for others has never been about just merely prolonging life for us at GCS. It is more than just administering medicine or applying treatment. I truly believe that this is the calling that we were meant to do.
Our responsibility is to provide the best and holistic care possible not just for the elderly, but for their family as well. It has not been an easy journey, and we are still working hard at it until today. But I believe that we have a responsibility to everyone who walks into our program and is put into our care.
