The Right Kind of Care at the Right Time
The Right Kind of Care at the Right Time
My personal journey in the care service industry is full of lessons and learnings. Over the many years that I practiced until today that I am running a service, there were many moments where the situations I found myself in, were the actual learnings that I would use to apply in the care that we seek to provide today. One of these crucial lessons is timing and application.
We can be bombarded with the multitude of new approaches and methods that come our way. Especially in the health sector, many new trends seem to pop out every now and then. Studies and findings get published in medical journals regularly. And medical blogs and websites promote new strategies that need to be tried. In my careful study, one of these lessons that I found to be most effective is the careful application of the Montessori Method in Elder Care.
Traditionally used in schools for the education of children, the Montessori approach enabled me to revolutionize how we view senior care. The concepts of having Prepared Environments, Guided Independent Learning, and Tactile Interactive Activities provided a unique boost to the quality of our activities and sessions that produced very positive results.
At GCS, we seek not only to prolong life, but to improve the quality of life as well. And through the careful and measured application of the Montessori Method, we saw our loved ones smile brighter, and live their days happier. Not just them, but their families as well. The correct activity,, scheduled at the right time, through counseling and communication with the family users involved, proved to be a major success story.
Having many different methods and strategies is important. The wealth of information available to us now was unheard of decades ago. And the proper application of these practices is what makes a service stand out and succeed.
